The Power of Technology

The annotate option, available in some online teaching platforms, can be successfully used in online teaching to ensure active student participation.

Students get to annotate on the white board either simultaneously or one by one as called upon by the teacher. She could ask them to write key words from the passage /content read, spell words, complete sentences or worksheets. The sample here is a list of words in which they had to separate them according to gender. A word of caution – clear norms need to be established before starting, lest it degenerates into a melee.
