Director’s message

Brindavan Education Trust is a not-for-profit organization working on empowering and educating children with special educational needs, and towards the goal of inclusion in the community and society.

Every year we work hard to provide the best possible educational services plus for our children, but we cannot do it alone. Our tight budget forces us to deny services at times to those in financial need. These children that gain admittance through your sponsorship, need your support now. And we know we can count on you to help us close the gap.

There are several ways that you can help us:

  • Consider making a one-time or recurring donation to help transform a child’s future through education.
  • You can also choose to contribute towards building up infrastructure resources for the centre.
  • We need computers , home economics equipment, educational and library resources as well.
  • These can be specified amounts for specific purposes or donation of equipment, books etc.

Any and all support is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Testimonials

My interaction with Brindavan Education Trust has been about 15 years. I did my special education course with your esteem organization and have never looked back. I am the chairperson of Prayag Montessori & amp; Airaa Academy and most of my team of special educators have been trained and groomed by you. Brindavan’s Seminars are a league of their own. They have always exceeded my expectations. The Seminars are always practical and realistic with their delivery and we have seen that the sessions, topics chosen, help us understand and work, using the recommended strategies to guide and help our learners meet their goals. I should definitely appreciate their choice of topics, which is what our learners, care givers and their facilitators need. Their selection of speakers are experts in the field of topic chosen and that makes the seminars more interesting to get better insight to our current learning needs. Come September I look forward for their seminars to groom my knowledge.
Thank you Brindavan for continuing to help the community learn and grow in the field of Special education.”

Amitha Prashanth, (Founder / Director Antharbhaava Foundation)

I have had a long and close association with Brindavan school for more than a decade now. This relationship is very dear to me for the personal rapport I share with the staff and the students with whom I have worked. When I see a child sent from Brindavan School I need not worry too much as a lot of the groundwork has been done; hence it becomes a lot easier to work with the family and child. I look forward to many more fruitful interactions with all of you. I wish you all the very best for the academic streams you have started such as SSLC and PUC. Kudos for setting up the vocational training centre too. It is this inclusive vision that is very commendable. All the very best!

Dr Sai Kirthi Kamath, Consultant clinical child psychologist

I have been fortunate to have the support of Brindavan for a good number of children seen by us. Two characteristics of the teachers there – a) constantly trying to improve themselves and b) being always approachable to discuss issues with children or families – have always stood out. I see Brindavan as the true pioneer in the field of Special Education in our state (involving a large number of formal schools in their ambit) and a rare one with high competence, compassion and the ability to network with one and all. I am immensely thankful for their willingness to join case conferences around specific challenges in children and their thoughtful follow-ups subsequently. Brindavan has made my work as a child psychiatrist much easier! I wish them continued success!

Dr Ashok Mysore, Professor of Psychiatry, St.John's Medical College Hospital, Bangalore

I had the incredible opportunity to intern at Brindavan Education Trust for four months, and it was truly a rewarding experience. From the very beginning, I was welcomed with open arms and immediately felt the warmth and positivity that radiates throughout the school.

During my time there, I assisted with the preparations for the annual day event, which was a fantastic start. It allowed me to see firsthand the dedication and hard work the teachers and staff put into creating memorable experiences for the students. Following that, I transitioned into working on academic support, where I was able to contribute more directly to the children’s learning journeys.

The working environment at Brindavan is nothing short of exceptional. It’s a place filled with encouragement, cheerfulness, and unwavering support. The teachers are incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their work. They have an impressive ability to connect with the children, ensuring each student feels understood and valued.

I learned so much from this experience, both professionally and personally. It was inspiring to see how effectively everyone worked together and the innovative methods they used to support the children’s education and development.

I am deeply grateful for the time I spent at Brindavan and I carry forward the lessons and experiences with great appreciation. I wholeheartedly recommend Brindavan Education Trust to anyone looking to work in a supportive and impactful educational environment.

Sanjana S – interned with BET for 3 months

Our daughter, aged 12 years joined Brindavan this year. After the first month, when I asked her about how her new school is, she said the following. “My teachers have a goal and they help me towards it.” I was very pleasantly surprised at the use of words and the thought process. Thank you, Brindavan. This is not everything. She surprises us everyday with new learnings that makes us think that we should have brought her to Brindavan earlier. Today has been her writing of 1 to 100 in words with some support. I have been slogging for years to get her to write till twenty. This gives me confidence that our daughter is in the right hands and her future is bright. Thank you, all at Brindavan for bringing hope and making it a reality for many parents like us.

Interning with Brindavan has been an overwhelming and invigorating experience for me. The organization cultivates a relational ethic of care at the core and curates spaces for learners to voice their stories nurtures aesthetic appreciation through multi-sensory pedagogic approach taps the innate curiosity in learning with an amalgamation of tradition and modernity. The team comprises of zealous professionals who strive to collaborate as a learning community acknowledging the learners right to be different through individualized goals that cherish their small acts of freedom and progress each day.

Designing inclusive and differentiated learning experiences for verbal, spatial and visual thinking minds and extend this scaffolding by embracing responsiveness through peer collaboration as they tread together in their learning pathways. Throughout my tenure with Brindavan I could envisage how constructivism rolls out in the classroom ecosystem and the subtle role that educators play to execute an integrated and balanced curricular approach blurring boundaries and distinctions between domains of knowledge and bringing out the beauty of coherence that subjects offer as a whole. I am truly grateful for this opportunity which strengthened my zeal for research, advocacy and systemic change for incorporating full inclusion and experiential learning opportunities in mainstream educational settings through a collaborative multistakeholder approach. Sure enough dealing with curious minds is tough but I learnt that sensitivity and tenderness makes it happen.

As Sir Robert Frost says, the organization has indeed chosen the road less traveled by and that has made all the difference.

Brindavan School has been instrumental in helping my children reach their full potential. The

with the confidence and skills they need to excel. The dedicated and passionate teachers at
Brindavan are always attentive to each student's individual needs, fostering a love for
learning and encouraging curiosity.
They have developed strong critical thinking skills, creativity, and a sense of responsibility
that will serve them well throughout their lives.
Brindavan's supportive community and focus on personalized education have empowered
my children to discover their strengths and pursue their passions. I am deeply grateful for
the role Brindavan School has played in their growth and development, and I
wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent seeking a school that truly cares about their
child’s future.

Shwetha, a parent

Brindavan provided much-needed guidance and support for my nephew, alleviating our
concerns about his schooling. The institution caters to the needs of specially disabled and
slow learners with a dedicated, passionate staff. They focus on recognizing each child's
strengths and building their self-confidence. The primary goal is to help children become
self-reliant in daily tasks, reading, and writing. Additionally, Brindavan has a Parents Support
Group that brings parents together to support one another and gain insights from experts.
Overall, I highly values Brindavan's contributions to specially-abled children and their
families.

Mahesh Pawate, student's uncle

Brindavan Education Trust as an institute has helped me in my academics and co-curricular
development such as drama, sports, presentation in classes or working with different groups on various projects
This institute has also helped me to focus on my academics by making sure of timely
completion of my homework, other project assignments and, records for my board exams.
Brindavan institute strongly believes in strong bonding between teachers and students. They
inspire students and promote experiential learning. This has boosted my self-confidence
and building team bonding. Teachers are very kind and helpful towards students whenever
they require help.
Today I feel happy and proud to say that this institute has helped me to shape my
personality and it’s a fun place to be in.

Win the Child
“I like to attend classes at Brindavan.”
“I do not wake up anxious on an exam day.”
“Ifeel relaxed and am not anxious that I will be bullied at school.”
“Brindavan seems like my second home.”
These are a few statements made by the children who have been referred to Brindavan by
UCan After School Remedials. The children have been admitted at different levels. Some of
them have completed their NIOS and gone to complete their graduation and stepped into
their professional journey, some have completed their NIOS and gotten into colleges while
some are still being nurtured at Brindavan.
Why do the children cherish their memories at Brindavan? From my experience children at
Brindavan are nurtured, loved, cared, guided and above all respected and accepted for what
they are and the way they are. The consequence of this acceptance manifests in the children
regaining their self-confidence and self-esteem which they seemed to have lost somewhere
along the way.
The dedicated team of special educators not only focus on the academic skills of the children
but also provide adequate opportunities for them to develop socio-emotional skills. The
Annual Day gives them a chance to showcase their talent. I have observed that these
experiences are cherished by the children for life.
To conclude the following line sums up Brindavan for me,
“Accept the child the way he/she is, and you win the child for life.”
Cheers to the dedicated team!

Jyothi Iyer (Special Educator and founder of UCan After School Remedials)

Brindavan is an outstanding institution that tailors its teaching methods to match each
child's unique learning style. Every child we have referred to this institution has graduated with remarkable success. I am particularly impressed with their curriculum and teaching techniques, which stand out from other schools. The adapted lessons and well-planned worksheets encourage children to think beyond the prescribed syllabus.
In addition to academic learning, the socio-emotional needs of the children are thoughtfully addressed. The teachers serve as exceptional mentors, offering valuable career guidance, and they approach parents with empathy and understanding.
I would like to commend the school's management for their tireless efforts. The children have grown into confident individuals, and their development is a testament to the school's dedication.

Rewa Jairath (Special Educator @ UCan)

I am Vaishali Patwardhan and I have been working at Brindavan's J P Nagar centre for the past nine years, teaching NIOS subjects. This experience has been wonderful, as Brindavan has become like a second family to me over the years. The coordinators and mentors are always approachable, supportive, and encouraging making it easy to seek guidance when needed. Brindavan has provided me with numerous wonderful opportunities to explore new subjects and topics of interest, and has given me the privilege to help coordinate in a program. One of the most significant personal
milestones I have had a difficulty to overcome was public speaking and thanks to the positive and nurturing environment I have come close to overcoming my fear. This journey has not only helped me build a professional career but has also helped me develop personally. I would like to thank
Brindavan for giving me these opportunities and helping me shape who I am as a person.

Vaishali Patwardhan (Special Educator)

I have been working in Brindavan since 2015. Have taught English for all age groups in Jayanagar, SSLC, Secondary and Senior Secondary NIOS board. Currently also teaching DEO and Basic Computers.
Teaching at Brindavan has helped me evolve as a person to be:
– patient,
– tenacious
– persistent
– Last few years, I have been teaching Life Skills and this has helped me to learn and grow in my life too like knowing my strengths and weaknesses, resolving issues with better
communication.
– Coming to Brindavan doing my bit and knowing it helps has boosted my confidence. It also
makes me feel good and optimistic.
– whenever I was bogged down by personal issues it was good to come to school and help
kids. Their willingness to learn and overcome challenges and looking up to me has been very motivating for me.
– Whenever I feel overwhelmed, it helps to talk to other teachers, learn from their experience,
taking advise from them, their optimistic attitude has helped me a lot. I wasn’t well and had to take a break for 3 months, it was then that I realized how much I missed coming to school.
– The management and my colleagues are very optimistic and allow us a lot of freedom to try
out things which keeps me on the lookout to try out new things.
– Brindavan is a place where I look forward to come every day to learn, to teach, to see smiles
on kids and to help kids face their challenges. I always go home having learnt something.
