Overview

Brindavan Centre’s after-school remedial program offers children and parents the expertise of a team of well-trained and experienced special educators. The program caters to the needs of children with SEN (special education needs), who attend regular mainstream schools. The objective of this program is to provide remediation and support to equip a child in a mainstream school with basic skills in reading, writing, spelling and mathematics. There are two programs offered:

Early intervention program

The early intervention program is for children between the ages of 3-6 years. This program works on the development of pre-reading and pre-writing skills, along with oral language development and socialization skills.

Basic Academic Skills Program

The program for children in the age group of 6 to 16 (up to 10th grade) works at developing basic academic skills. For children in high school, curriculum-based remediation is provided once basic skills are in place.

Program details
  • The program consists of 45-minute sessions, four days a week. The year runs from June to March. Sessions begin from 3.30/4.00pm and continue till 6.30/7.00pm each day.
  • Each teacher handles between 2 to 4 students in a session. Enrolment in this program is for a minimum period of one year. Periodic parent-teacher school interactions, parent and teacher awareness workshops, and a bi-annual newsletter are also some of the features of this program.
  • Informal educational evaluation and counseling for children and parents.
  • Individualised education plan (IEP) is provided for each child and is tailored to his/her needs, based on the evaluation/assessment reports.

Our journey with Brindavan Remedial Center started 2 years ago and we must say it’s been a wonderful and remarkable one. We are very happy with the support we are getting here. They are highly professional, dedicated, talented and caring. The teachers are very knowledgeable and have a very innovative and holistic approach. Our child eagerly looks forward to the sessions each day. They find innovative ways to engage with the child, even with the remote sessions. They also give lots of suggestions to incorporate as part of day-to-day activities with the child, both on academic and socio- behavioural skills. They work out approaches to suit the individual needs of every child. They identify and support talent of each child and work to find opportunities to showcase the child's unique talent, like singing. I want to specially thank the remedial team and the entire Brindavan family from the bottom of my heart.
